Almost every article in Wikipedia could do with some expansion - the aim of Wikipedia is to have every article at featured status. This page is for listing those articles of any length for which there is a specific request or longer (non-stub) articles which are still embarrassingly short or insufficient for an encyclopedia of the stature to which Wikipedia aspires.
Articles to list here:
- Stubs - Articles that are very short. These should be tagged with {{stub}}, or a topic-specific stub tag. Since stubs by definition are tagged as being too short for their subject, the use of the {{expand}} tag on stubs should always be accompanied by a detailed explanation of what needs to be done.
- Longer articles that still need expansion. Be sure to tag these {{expand}} when you nominate them.
- Sections in particular need of expansion within an article may be tagged with {{expandsection}} or {{Sectstub}}.
Articles not to list here:
Cleanup needed
Please help remove listings which have already been expanded. To determine this, you can check the article's history tab. Compare the length of the article from when the request was posted here to its current length. If there was a request for expansion of a particular point, see if this was done. Articles that have been expanded should have the {{expand}} tag removed from the talk page.
In order to prevent this page from getting too long, requests older than six months should be removed from this page entirely. When doing so, please move the comment accompanying the request from this page to the article's talk page, and make sure it is tagged {{expand}}. This ensures that the article will continue to be featured on the opentask list and Category:Articles to be expanded until it is eventually expanded.
Urgent
For the most urgently needed article expansions, it may make sense in addition to listing the article here to find the project page of an appropriate Wikipedia:WikiProject or ask for help from a particular editor who has made contributions in that field before.
2008
Please place new requests at the top of the appropriate list and make the article link bold. Please remember to sign with four tildes (~~~~).

- Greater Romania - Although it is the designated section of history for Romania covering the span between WWI and WWII, it has absolutely no coverage of events between 1920 and 1940, other than a reference to its borders staying the same during this period. As this is also the referential case for the main article on Romania itself, as it now stands Wikipedia has no historical coverage of Romania in any general article from 1920 to 1940. - Chamber of Deputies (Mexico) - A key part of the government of a country just outside the top 10 in economy, land size, and population, yet this article is all but a stub and has no information as to the powers or functions of the Chamber. United States House of Representatives is a pretty good model. GoodnightmushTalk 13:47, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- Saint Louis Chamber Chorus - Currently a stub. I would expand it myself, but I'm personally involved with this organziation and don't want to cause any WP:COI issues. Briefly, I do believe it is notable according to the "Musicians and ensembles" criteria of WP:MUSIC because:
- Every one of their concerts are reviewed (not just mentioned, but actually given a detailed review) in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, a notable and reliable newspaper.
- Has released several albums on a major (Regent Records (UK)) label
It could be argued that it "has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city", although I'll grant that's up for debate. Additionally, it performs original works (i.e., commissions) by very notable composers, Ned Rorem among them. In addition to the reviews in the Post-Dispatch, there have also been feature articles about the group, as well as programs featuring their music on KFUO-FM (which is not a "national" radio station, I guess, but still a prominent local one). I can probably provide sources to back up the claims of notability and whatnot, but they should be easily locatable on http://www.stltoday.com (the Post-Dispatch's website), as well as other stuff one might find on Google. Feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you feel like taking up this task and would like my assistance. Thanks in advance! Dgcopter (talk) 03:01, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- Bowing - Needs information about the Oriental (Persian?) practice of touching the forehead, and flourishing the hand in a circular motion away from the body while bowing at the waist. - Frontal lobe disorder - I started this as a stub (before this, it was a redirect to psychopathy!), and I have writtens some general content on frontal lobe functions and clinical assessment. - Mathematical economics - I have expanded this article considerably, but it is sorely in need of a strong look by an outside figure. Since ~May I've been the (basically) only editor to work on it and I feel it needs many more eyes than mine to get close to GA status.
